Character Analysis

Montag ~ Life in the Future

Fahrenheit 451, written by Ray Bradbury, takes place some time in the future, in a small town, somewhere in Europe. Montag, the main character, is a fireman, whose job it is to start fires to burn books. Not the most normal of jobs, but in the future, who knows what will become of this world today. Montag's wife, Millie, and Clarisse, a 17 year old girl who Montag meets, and the fireman staff are all other vital characters in Fahrenheit 451. Montag did this everyday. Montag's job is an important part and life saver of the society he lives it.

Montag's character due to the world he lives in is one we have never seen or heard about before. In Montag's world, books are an evil thing. They are known to tell the people bad things or things they didn't want to hear. They disliked them so much, they banned them, making it a law that no one should ever read, write, or have a book. If they did find
