Baseball and Drug Testing

Is the new policy on steroid testing in Major League baseball morally justified? Well it depends on whose set of morals you are going by. I honestly don’t care if they use them at all. I compete in a sport where they are all over. I don’t use them, but I still beat plenty of guys that do. For the sake of the assignment though I do think the new policy is morally justified. If the rule is “no steroids” than you can’t do them and can expect to be punished for doing them. I am unhappy that it is such a big issue in the states though. Why are people these days so worried about the steroid issue when we have so many more important things going on in this country? The death toll in the war in the Middle East gets about 10 seconds of mention on the news, but steroids in baseball gets minutes. Plus, performance enhancers are everywhere! What about people like Whitney Houston and all her gold records? You can’t tell me her crack addiction wasn’t a performance enhancer. The policy will benefit the players for sure by making sure the game has a level playing field and it will be for the greatest happiness
