Philosophy of Education

I believe all children can learn and want to learn. How much they learn depends a lot on the effectiveness of the teacher and whether or not they accept their responsibility to do the best they can. Doing the best they can depends on a lot of things, not just the child's minds but also, the child's home life, family, friends, any learning difficulties and socio-economics standing. This entire thing having to be considered to be able to teach and to teach well.

An effective teacher will respect the different learning styles of their students. In a classroom they're all types of learning styles one example being a student with Attention Deficit Disorder, I hope I will remember my son and his problems he had with some teachers and also how some teachers went out of their way to help him. Then there are the gifted ones who need you to push and give them extra work. We cannot forget the ones who are just there to get by, hopefully I can find a way to reach them and help them see that learning is fun and important. Managing a classroom this diverse can be very hard, but no one said teaching would ever be easy. Behavior management is a key factor, controlling behavior is one of the biggest challenges teachers face. Finding an acceptable set of rules and consequences and positive reinforcement standards will be a challenge. I hope my being a mother of three will help with this and that each year of teaching gives me experience with dealing with a diverse classroom. Biology is an ever-changing field that can be seen as a very complicated subject to learn. As students walk into my classroom filled with prints of animals, scientific objects and posters, and other subject related matter, I want them to feel as though they have entered into another world. The walls should be covered with information to not only assist them in the learning process, but also capture their visual
