"America's Hidden Issue: Racism Against Blacks"

Racism, by definition is a belief that race is the primary determinant of

human traits and capacities and that racial differences produces an inherent

superiority of a particular race, (Webster). This is a complex issue, that is

defined quite simply, yet the effects of this particular belief are devastating. The

individual who is thought of as the superior race is usually not aware of the

discrimination towards the inferior race. In America, racism is a major issue that

is neglected in numerous circumstances. America, herself was developed due to

racism and discrimination against the inferior race we know as the Indians.

Instead of understanding, the new creature, the superior race, known as the

Euopeans, deprecated the Indians due to their diverse culture and slow

technological advancements. America was soon established based on a

constitution that was developed by " the superior race, " for the superior race.

Minorities were disregarded of all rights at this time and later clauses were

added to unite the Americas as a whole, but unfortunately a race-free nation

is unattainable. Is it possible for a nation to be totally equal if it's history is rooted

in the horrors of slavery, discrimination of minorities, corruption of the criminal

justice system towards blacks and advantages for White Americans?

In America, the mistreatment of the African American race is disturbing.

Blacks now have advantages that were unavailable in the past, but they are

discriminated against so harshly that these advances seem inevitable. In March

2002 , the African American population was 36 million, which made up thirteen

percent of the population, (U.S. Census Bureau,2002). Obviously blacks are a

major minority. Blacks are most likely to have unfinished education, poor living

conditions and hard labor professions. This is a reality that is vastly ignored.

Blacks in the U.S. in the year 2003 had a poverty rate of 24.4 percent, (U.S.

Census Bureau,2003). 19.5 % of Black Americans are uninsured in the U.S., (U.S.

Census Bureau, 2003). Lack of health insurance and poor living conditions

combined derceases the life spand of the African American race. These facts

about the disadvantages of the Black race leads to the pronounced issue of

inequality in America.

In Aristotle's theory, natural law, an individual should do what is right in

his/her biological sense. You should always do the most honest thing in any

given situation. An individual who is racist lacks morals completely. A racists

individual does not apply the theory of Natural Law to the inferior race. Racism

in unethical. Being that America is full of racism an argument is introduced.

Does the lack of morals,of racist Americans lead to the inequality of this nation?

Will America ever be a violent-free, terror-free, discrimination-free nation if racism

is such a major
