Should the government allow drivers to drive while talking in the cell phone? A

question that created a conflict in opinion. The constant increase in accidents obligates people to try to prevent them by knowing what causes them. Many might think that being intoxicated while driving weather by drinking or using drugs is the main reason for car accidents, but the studies now show that driving while talking on the cell phone is arising in many investigations. Driving while talking on the cell phone should be permitted because it causes accidents, increases the risks of hurting other people, and it is becoming a primary action and driving is the secondary.

In various numbers of investigations in a car accident the issue of cell phone appears noticeably. Due to that, some studies were made to determine if the cell phone has that much impact on driving or not. Suzanne P. McEvoy wrote a study about that, but she left the results unknown "The new Australian study involved all drivers in Perth, Australia, who were involved in road crashes between April 2002 and July 2004. McEvoy and colleagues included in their study only the crashes that resulted in injuries necessitating hospitalization" (Nappoli, health facts). As a result it showed that out of 1625 drivers, only 28% of them did not have a cell phone. The remaining 941 did carry a cell phone while driving. Even though the research did not come out with complete results but what was proven that cell phones are really dangerous while driving weather it was a hand- free cell phone or a normal one "Drivers talking on cell phones are four times more likely to be involved in a serious road accident. Furthermore, the risk was just as high for the

drivers using hands-free phones" (Nappoli, health facts). Driving while talking on the cell phones causes accidents.

Driving while talking on a cell phone increases the risk of hurting other people. No one drives well enough to balance talking on the cell phone and castrating on the road. If a person decided that he is good enough and then got him self in a car accident, how would the other part of the accident feel. Some one could destroy some ones life because they decided they are good enough. David Kushma wrote in his article that when he is driving and a driver in not following the regulations "I try to put distance between such a driver and me as soon as I can. And when I sneak a peek at the road hazard, invariably it's a jerk with a phone jammed in his or her ear, obliviously jabbering away" (kushma, Automotive News). People are more likely to get into a car accident then they were five years ago. "43 percent of the poll respondents admit to using a cell phone while driving. For drivers under the age of 26, it's nearly two-thirds. I'm not part of the 43 percent, but that doesn't make me feel any safer amid the multitude of multitask" (Kushma, Automotive News). A new study that came out insures that the high way safety in is based on drivers that uses cell phones "drivers who use cell phones are four times as likely to get hurt in crashes as they would have been if they hadn't been on the phone. And hands-free phones are no safer than hand-held ones" "8 percent of motorists are on the phone. That's a phone-distracted driver in one of every dozen cars and trucks, twice the rate of five years ago" (Kushma, Automotive News). Now a day 16 years old is driving like 85 years old

because of cell phones and he is putting people lives in risk.
