In the United States, there are 50% of married couple divorce in recent year and 59.9% of them got divorced because unhappiness; they might just marry for money, beauty or some other reasons. So I agree with C.S. Lewis statement "that we depend for a very great deal of our happiness or misery on circumstances outside all human control" which he mentioned in the essay "We Have No Right to Happiness".

Some people seek for their happiness that depends on the youthfulness and the beauty of their spouses. They are very proud of their beautiful wife or their handsome husband. Nevertheless, conform to the nature regulation, the youthfulness or the beauty is faded following the time of age. At that time, of course, their happiness is also faded. In this case, they could not preserve their happiness because it depends on the circumstances outside of their control. The example about Mr. A in C.S. The other people choose their spouse who are rich or have stable jobs. Actually, that love is an investment for those people. Lewis has written: "when two people achieve lasting happiness, this is not solely because they are great lovers but because they are also - I must put it crudely - good people; controlled, loyal, fair-minded, mutually adaptable people." People often think in the way they see things. For example, seeing rich couple on the street with all their luxury life and glamour clothes, people would think that is an ideal for their love. When two people first met, they are attractive to each other by their appearances. However, the great image is a big deception that ties their thinking because love could not calculate. Who could know what is behind their life? What if tomorrow things could not be the same, would you stay or leave because you lost your investment love?
