Positive influence for a team

Our team has been assigned a major project that will take approximately one year to complete. In order to have a successful work experience and get our job done there are several factors we must consider. This includes creating a plan to increase our team's motivation, satisfaction and performance. We also must start by evaluating each team member's attitudes, emotions, personalities, and values and discuss how they influence our behavior. With so much diversity in the workplace today it is very necessary to improve the value of effort for each individual in the team.

However, the needs of each team member should be measured and implemented so that the plan will help enhance the work environment of our team. To help the plan become more successful, an organizational behavioral assessment was done with our team to view what kind of values, traits, and personalities that were present in our team. With this assessment, it will give a better idea of how we can collaborate with one another. Within this report our team is comprised of four members who names are Rose, Vickie, Radiah and Tykeisha. Each member has completed an organizational behavior assessment, and once the results are ready as a team we will evaluate, review, and discuss them together.

Motivation, Satisfaction, and Performance

There are many factors that can help motivate, increase job performance, and the help with the job satisfaction of individuals or team members. Also, it is essential to the success of the team to enhance the job performance of each individual of this team. This plan will be used to help promote an encouraging atmosphere in order to have team success. An organizational behavior assessment was given to determine the emotional intelligence, values, and attitudes, which are significant in monitoring performance, satisfaction, and motivation amongst our team. There are several definitions of motivation but to narrow it down to one it can be defined as the process that initiates, guides and maintains goal oriented behaviors (Cherry). There are also three key fundamentals of motivation. The three key fundamentals are intensity, direction, and persistence. Intensity describes how hard someone tries, and with high intensity it can lead to encouraging outcomes which is the direction and lastly motivation have a persistence dimension and this measure how long a person can maintain effort (Judge, 2011).

As we continue evaluating our team and their characteristics, we would be remiss in not looking at the level of job satisfaction of each team member. The positivity that someone feels or expresses about their job describes their level of job satisfaction. Most organizational behavior researchers give job satisfaction high importance so, the higher the better (Judge, 2011). When employees are satisfied with their job it will show in their job involvement or performance. Job performance indicates the level in which an employee can psychologically identify with their jobs and care about the kind of work they do. Employees with advanced levels of job performance are invested in the effort they do and tie it to their sense of worth.

Personality, Attitudes, Emotions and Values

Organizational Behavior assessments are necessary when teams are assigned large projects and the attitudes, values, emotions, and personalities of the members can have direct attributes of the projects success or failure. One of the first steps to developing a successful team must be to determine how differences in attitudes, emotions, personalities and values influence individual behavior. What is personality? Personality is the sum total of who a person is and also how they react to and interact with others (Judge, 2011). There are a massive amount of personality traits such as supremacy, friendliness, autonomy, conscientiousness
