However, the greater conflict is during the execution of Filippo but Michele’s father does not realise until it’s too late. |
Deception is damaging | The death of Michele is significant tragedy that arise from this. Not only it has destroyed the gang’s ransom but Michele’s family. Furthermore, with no one able to support the family, Michele’s mother will have no job and money to support Maria. Bribes his son with “going to the beach” and to avoid the conversation topic. |
Italian Background | Due to the long and disastrous history, revenge and bully is ingrained into generations of Italians, thereby explaining Sergio’s, Felice’s and Skull’s dominant nature. Beauty of landscape can have undersides | The “pantone” shaped landscape signifies the innocence of the children and land while the “dark clouds” that “blend in” demonstrates the close proximity of the two opposing sides but the contrast in personality and trait. |
Adolescent bravery and purity | The bravery expressed by Michele during Barbara’s punishment revealed his true nature of empathy and purity in his heart. Another instance is when he offers to save Filipino which goes against his dad’s wishes. |
