1. Jesus walks a lot...

Matt 3:13 - Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan...

The Trip from Galilee to Jordan is roughly 60 miles. This is a trip that was made on a regular basis by the Savior. He not only would make this trip but made any other trips by foot thought out his ministry. We rarely, if ever read of the Savior making a trip by mule, donkey, or camel.

2. Jesus fulfills all righteousness

Matt 3:17 - ...Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness...

After Jesus had made the trip to Jordan he sought out John the Baptist. The reason for his trip was to be baptized in order to fulfill all righteousness. As I have ponder the this simple statement I have learned it is all the little things we do show if we are living a righteous life or not.

3. Jesus is beloved by God the Father

Matt 3:17 - And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son...

I recently learned the importance of the word "beloved". Webster defines it as dearly loved or dear to the heart, or granted special treatment or attention. This shows a greater bond, affection, and also special attention was given to Jesus from his Father to help develop him into our Savior.

4. Jesus was baptized.

Matt 3:17 - And Jesus, when he was baptized...

I was recently having a conversation with another religion teacher at the school. We got on the topic of baptism and started to talk about the importance of it. As you can imagine the conversation quickly turned to the baptism of the Savior. He explained to me baptism is the requirement to get into the celestial kingdom. Although there are many other requirements to receive exaltation baptism is the requirement to enter the celestial kingdom.

5. Jesus was tempted.

Mark 1:13 - And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan

Everyday we are tempted to do many things. Whether they are little temptations or large temptations Satan shows his face everyday. On thing that strikes me from this is Satan was quick to appear after a spiritual experience. It seems as if after every spiritual experience we have we need to be prepared for a temptation from Satan in some form.

6. Luke 2:42 - Christ is diligent

"And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast."

Each year Mary and Joseph would make the trip from Nazareth to Jerusalem for the fest of the Passover. The trip to Jerusalem is a long distance to travel by foot yet Jesus made the trip with his family and never once does it mention him complaining or wanting to lag behind.

7. Luke 2:43 - Christ is self-reliant

"...as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem..."

At the age of twelve Jesus knew his mission and was will and able to care for himself. He knew there were people to teach in Jerusalem and decided to say in the large city by himself. He was in a city for days by himself and was able to provide all the necessities of life for himself without his parent.

8. Luke 2:44 - Christ is trustworthy

"But they, supposed him to have been in the company..."

At the age of twelve most kids are kept by the parents side when in large groups due to the fact they are often up to mischievous deeds when out of the parents site. Christ was different, his parent knew he could be trusted and he would do what was right in all situations.

9. Luke 2:46-47 - Christ is intelligent

"...they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions. And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers."

Doctors tend to be one of the most educated classes of individuals. They first spend many years obtaining knowledge to become a doctor then spend the rest of there lives continuing to study the new ways and trends. Amazingly these were the people sitting at the feet of a twelve years boy, completely astonished at his understanding and answers.

10. Luke 2:57 - Christ was able a likeable person

"... Jesus increased ... in favour with ... man."

This use of favour denotes an inclination to approve. As Christ grew older he learned the customs and trends of his time and people. He also would have learned what personality traits are likable and then used them to further his ministry and appeal to man.

11. John 2:2 - Jesus Attends weddings.

"And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage."

Jesus knows how much this special means to each person. Because he loves us so much he wants to be there with us on our special days. He enjoys the love shown at these events and also wants show he is excited for us also. And He likes to celebrate, who doesn't?

12. John 2:10 - Jesus like good wine

"...Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now."

Jesus has the ability to gain likes and dislikes as he grew older. One of his likes as we can tell from this is like good wine. I could have easily made bad wine and let the people drink the bad wine because at this point they wouldn't have notice but Jesus made good wine because he knew he would be drinking it also.

13. John 2:6 - Jesus is a thirsty man

"...And there were set there six water pots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece."

Six water pots containing two or three firkins each is about one hundred forty four gallons of water. He turned this into wine. I don't think I have ever seen a group of people large enough at a wedding to drink one hundred forty four gallons. So Jesus must be a very thirsty man.
