  • CNN’s Coverage of the Ebola pandemic were from a more scientific and “result seeking” approach. Very few of their emissions actually touched on personal lives of victims. Interest were much more in General and improvement with Ebola cases, and what WHO is doing, what doctors think about it and what’s the next step. Along with CNN, CBC News also had gone on the same line on what and how to cover stories of Ebola. With Titles like

1. Ebola: Latest from Texas officials

2. Ebola Email Scandal: The emission about how WHO delayed the calling of Ebola outbreak an emergency because of fear of the closure of Borders.

  • VoxAfrica and France 24:

Vox Africa’s first news on Ebola was on the 24th of March 2014, which really early as compared to CNN and France 24. Their stories involved victims and how they lived their daily lives with the disease. I would say they played on the emotions of their viewers. They tried to bring viewers a step closer to the lives of those involved and the fear of citizens about Ebola.

  • Another really interesting observation was that news coverage concerning Ebola once it was picked up by these news organizations was a day to day telecast for lack of words. News reporting on the disease were very frequent and in October ranked the most talked about on CNN news.

They tackled the news from a more sensitive point of view
