The pulse began on June 18th, 2002. As the blazing sun lingers over the capital city of Seoul, Korea, the country comes to life. Suddenly, a vast sea of red seems to be engulfing the nation. Every Korean fills the streets, dressed solely in red attire with the design "Be the Reds!" written across their chests. Each one of them stands together supporting their home team, eagerly waiting to witness a world event. Even though it is hours before the game, Korea's residents proudly stand beside each other to celebrate the World Cup 2002. The setting was perfect, like a masterpiece from Michelangelo. The stench of intimidation and dislike filled the stadium as fast as a balloon filled up by helium. You could feel the tense atmosphere squeeze you as everyone waits very anxiously.

The game held this night was Korea's playoff match against the highly renowned, three-time champion, Italia. The location was chosen, the stage is set, and here comes the players. The sound of cheering roars through the city as though they were human speakers running a THX sound advertisement. The fans are so excited that tidal waves were shooting across the stadium over and over again. It almost looked as if a patch of grass was floating in a sea of red. The sea didn't just surround the field but also the stadium itself as fans and citizens of Korea were cheering 5 blocks all around it as well. The energy that night constantly swelled up by the second and kept reaching a climax that didn't exist. The match up was intense throughout the whole game. Korea trailed the entire match until Seol Ki Hyeon scores a goal in the final seconds to go into over time.

After, It all ended with a bang as Korea's Ahn Jung Hwan becomes the toast of Korea as he scores the golden goal to advance into a quarterfinal battle with Spain. Literally, the
