Critical Thinking and Language Essay 2

One Metaphor that my mom used for me was that she called me a "couch potato." My mom called me a couch potato because she says that I stay on the couch all the time looking at television. Well I do. I would get off of work at seven in the morning and just get acquainted with the couch. The couch is very comfortable to me. I would have everything around me that I need, "except the bathroom," so that I wouldn't have to get up. Second Metaphor that my boyfriend calls me is a "road hog." I find myself being a road hog because I tend to push aside other drivers so that I can have my territory or my own lane. I believe that I am an aggressive driver. For example if I am driving in my lane and somebody cuts me off and goes slower than traffic, I will cut them off so that I can have my spot back.

Third Metaphor that I use is the word "breeze." I use the word breeze when I find homework to be very easy to do. It was very easy and I zipped right through it. The homework was not challenging at all. If something is a breeze then I will save it and do it last because it's the easiest thing to do. Fourth Metaphor that I use is "dry spell." I would use this word often because the company that I worked for before my last job had

It would be dry of customers at the store because sometimes the newer store would have better prices, but the store would eventually picked back up for Christmas because we sold electronics and the newer store didn't.

Fifth Metaphor that I use is the word "ugly" I would use the word ugly to describe how the weather looking. If someone asked me how the weather is I would respond by saying its ugly outside. Ugly would mean that the weather is very cold and have grey skies like if it was about to rain. The word ugly is the opposite word of sunny. For example if someone asked me how the weather is outside and it is sunny then I would say the weather is nice.
