ABSTRACT

In the following paper I will discuss my personal opinion and experience with my presentation. I had some challenges and also learned a great deal during these assignments. The paper will also talk about things I will do differently in the future.

I decided to do my presentation on child abandonment; this is an extremely controversial subject. I know that this could have arose major issues and arguments and I also thought my peers were going to be extremely critical given the topic. I know that everyone may have separate opinions about child abandonment however I think that we all need to be aware of how big this problem is and it is only becoming more of an issue as time goes on.

My purpose of the presentation was to make everyone aware of child abandonment and how often it occurs. I also wanted to make everyone aware that there are many resources and help that are offered. These resources are available for the victims but there are also programs that were created to try and prevent the children from being abandoned. My intended audience was a group of my fellow peers.

I think that this picture in particular caught my audience's attention while at the same time shedding some light on the severity of the issue.

I thought the effectiveness of my presentation overall was okay and I did have the right intention. I feel I got the message across by providing not only statistics but my resources as well. I think that my conclusion could have been a little better but it seemed to shed light on the subject some. The topic was a little difficult for the simple fact I wanted to provide a presentation that not only educates but makes a difference discussing.

The researching was very time consuming because you had to filter through all of the different opinions on child abandonment and the actual information on the topic. The visual aids I used had to be carefully chosen because you don't want to frighten the audience, for
