The guest session main learning was how impact investing is a viable and sustainable alternative to maximize returns for the investors and to create maximum social impact. While for the backend, the recruitment process shows that the firm in impact investing need a highly professional approach to carry out tasks effectively. This shows that human capital contributions is seen to be higher than financial capital. This is an important learning that firm in impact investing need even more competency than firms in pure investing or social sector as one need to balance the both sides of the coin. ON followed the market based approach to achieve the objective of maximum social impact in the market and keep flexibility with it to include those firms also whose investment returns are low but social returns are high.

The selection of the firms for investing purpose and for philanthropic purpose is also clear in the company objective as clarity is definitely needed in the proper selection for the firms. The idea is to invest in companies that are perceived as making social impact now or can impact in the longer term. In the long term the firm should create both economic and social value and failure in even one of this results in the failure of objective.

One of the main problems in social investing is finding the ventures that are worth investing for. As most of the ventures are falling in one line or the other, therefore social investment firms need to filter the companies appropriately. The idea is not to subsidize the ventures products but to support and build the market for the same. This helps in efficient running of market forces.

Impact investing presence is active in the environment where market or government failures hampers the development. The firms in which money is invested is also needed to be checked and guided so it doesn't deviate from the path. If it does, the then the exit option is open for the firm.
