The Creator

The Koran was revealed at a time when people knew very little about astronomy, physics, and biology. The Koran has many miraculous attributes revealing it is the word of God. Some scientific truths that we have only been able to prove today with modern technology were stated in the Koran 1400 years ago. Some of the facts that are stated could not have been known 14 centuries ago therefore the Koran is the word of God.

"He is the Originator of the heaven and earth." (Surah al-An'arn 101) This verse is in full agreement with contemporary science. The conclusion that scientists have reached today is that the entire universe with the dimensions of matter and time came into existence as a result of a big explosion known as the Big Bang. Modern scientists are in agreement that the Big Bang is the only rational explanation of the beginning of the universe. This fact only recently discovered by modern physics was revealed in the Koran 1400 years ago.

"And it is We Who have constructed the heaven with might, and verily, it is We Who are steadily expanding it." (Surah adh-Dhariyat, 47) The word heaven is stated in many different places in the Koran, and refers to space, universe, sky, and the atmosphere. In this verse, the Koran is clearly stating tat the universe is expanding. The Russian physicist Alexander Friedman and the Belgian cosmologist George Lemaitre theoretically calculated that the universe is in constant motion and that it is expanding. This fact was also proved by observational data in 1929 by Edwin Hubble who discovered that the stars and galaxies were moving away from each other. This fact was stated in the Koran over 14 centuries ago when people knew very little about astronomy. This is because the Koran is the word of God.

"And the sun runs to its resting place. That is the decree of the Almighty, the All-Knowing." (Surah Ya'Sin, 38) This verse is stating that the sun is not static; the sun is in constant motion. Scientists have proven that the sun is moving at a speed of 720,000 km/h in the direction of the start Vigo, in a particular orbit called the Solar Apex. The sun travels 17,280,000 kilometers per day including everything within its gravitational pull. Surely people 1400 years ago did not have the instruments to measure such calculations as we do in the 20th century. Yet, the Koran stated this fact 14 centuries ago.

"It is He Who Created everything on the earth for you and then directed His attention up to heaven and arranged it into seven regular heavens, He has knowledge of all things." (Surah al-Baqarah, 29) Another fact about the atmosphere that is revealed in the Koran is that the sky is made up of seven layers. The word, heaven, is referring to the atmosphere. Modern science has proven that the atmosphere is made up of seven different layers. The first layer is the Troposphere, then the Stratosphere; Ozone layer is part of the stratosphere where absorption of ultra violet rays occurs. Above the stratosphere is mesosphere. The thermosphere is above the mesosphere. The ionosphere is formed within the thermosphere. The most outer part of the atmosphere is called the Exosphere. As one can see, there are seven layers of the atmosphere just as the Koran states. At a time when man did not have the instruments or means to measure such things, yet it was revealed in the Koran.

"He has let loose the two seas, converging together, with a barrier between them they do not break through." (Surah ar-rahman, 19-20) The properties of the seas that converge together yet do not mingle with each other has been discovered with oceanographers. Because of the physical force called surface tension, the waters in neighbouring seas do not mix. The density of the seas causes this; surface tension prevents them from mixing with each other. During a time when people had no knowledge of physics, surface
