The places beyond the Pines

The Places Beyond the Pines is a fantastic story about fathers and sons and the choices they make.If you’ve feelings of hate and revenge on your mind toward somebody else, this may be film for you. This movie make you understand and appreciate more about your parent’s sacrifices. I recommend this movie for everyone who likes a good drama. You will live this story along with the famous characters like Bradley Cooper and Ryan Gosling.

The Place Beyond the Pines is a 2012 American crime drama film directed by Derek Cianfrance. The Place Beyond The Pines is a sweeping emotional drama powerfully exploring the unbreakable bond or love between fathers and sons. It rated 7.4 out of 10 in IMDB.

Luke Glanton (Ryan Gosling) is a motorcycle stuntman performer who travels from town to town with the carnival. He went back to Schenectady, New York after one years, trying to reconnect with his former lover, Romina (Eva Mendes) who secretly gave birth to his son, Jason (Dane Dehaan). After knowing he has became a father and he decided to provide better for his new family. Romina does not asking Luke for anything, especially as she is now living with another man .He quits the carnival job because it earn not much and taking a job as mechanic with Robin (Ben Mendelsohn). After awhile, Robin teaches him how to makes quick money and they became partner to commits a series of bank robberies. But it is only a matter of time before Luke nabbed and shot dead by police officer, Avery Cross (Bradley Cooper).Avery is a rookie police officer with a degree in law who is looking to quickly move up the ranks in a police force that involves in corruption. The drama unfolds after fifteen years as the sins of the past will pass to their high school sons. It is then that the two sons, Jason and AJ (Emory Cohen), must continue their parent's fateful legacy.

Overall the movie is quite good but I didn’t like the ending when Jason, after letting go of hatred and revenge toward Avery Cross for killing his father, he just bought a bike and left his hometown and went for explore. The director should make the ending more interesting like reveal more about the future of the Jason. Other than that, all of the actor acting skill is really great, nothing really to complain about it. The script and dialogue are easily to understand and listen. This story is unique because it taught us moral and life lesson. This movie is relying on camera effect make the movie became more realistic. The budget allocated for this film is 15millions and went on to make $45 million profit. The big name actors likes Bradley Copper, Ryan Gosling and Eve Mendez get paid well for their role. Also, the costume design suit for their respective roles. For example, Luke (Ryan Gosling) wears a mechanic costume to rob the bank. Besides that, I like the music of the film because it makes me more remember the movie. For example, whenever I played the movie soundtrack, it makes me reflect back to the movie. Everything on this disc flows greatly with the film. The time for every film should be planned well and set. This film makes a perfect time setting.
