Long-term goal: To be a professional market research analyst in a TOP 50 market research company who collect the most useful market information for my clients to make optimal business decisions.
Short-term goal: Work in the marketing department of a global company in two years after graduation in US.

Introspection plan
Year 1-Fall semester |
- Study hard in coursework and lay solid academic foundation(aim to achieve GPA above 3.5)
- Read a book related to market research every month and write book report. This month I plan to read Qualitative consumer& marketing research by Russellw belk
- Set up my LinkedIn profile and keep updating
- Attend workshops for leadership and business writing that improve my influential ability and formal writing skill.
- Attend training courses of MIL such as Matlab and get the certification
- Attend career fairs, accumulate interviewing experience and build network with alumni that work in this field.
Year 1-Spring semester |
- Study hard in coursework and lay solid academic foundation(aim to achieve GPA above 3.5)
- Join a marketing research club or business consulting organization to improve my analytical and presentation skills
- Help the professor to do some research work
- Participate in the Marketing Strategy Competition conducted by AMA in April,2018 to sharpen my wit, speed, and presentation skills
- Learn R language and Tableau by myself or attending the online course
Year 2: |
- After graduation, I will be work in the marketing department of a global company. Because this kind of company has employees from variety cultures and background, so I can learn from them. It often offers valuable training courses for employees,which aim at improving communication and marketing skills.
- Put what I’ve learn into the practice
- Read relevant magazines every week and update latest dynamic marketing information.

Year 3 |
- After working in the marketing department of a global company for 1 or 2 years, I plan to work as a marketing research assistant in a marketing research company such as Illuminas, Nielson and so on. The benefits for me would be to understand market segments deeply, master different strategies of marketing research and learn how to leverage data.

- Become a member of market research society
- Publish articles about various aspects of marketing in specialist magazines
