A fourteen-year old girl who has motion sickness and a fear of heights, is a recent breakout artist with a top selling album. In order to keep her musical success going, she must take a three hour plane ride to Los Angeles, California. She has never been on a plane before and has never planned to in the future. However, she needs to get to Los Angeles soon and so she decides to face her fears and fly thousands of feet from the ground. This story is about the thrills, shocks, and fears of riding an airplane for the very first time.
In the music studio, Kylie records her songs until an abrupt sound comes from her parents screaming, walking through the door. Kylie is exhilarated with the news of her success, but right as she celebrates, she is shocked with the bad news of the airplane ride.
There Kylie stands, in the middle of the tremendous terminal waiting for her row to be called to board the plane. She scurries through her carry-on bag, searching and checking for her mandatory supplies: cell phone, water, book, and most importantly, Airborne. With the sight of aides and medicine in her bag, she is temporarily relieved until she reminds herself of the horror of the airplane. There she went, waiting in line, until she gave her ticket to the woman to be ripped. There it was, the hallway leading to the airplane. Walking through it seemed like forever to her, but finally she arrived to the entrance. The ladies welcomed her aboard. Kylie gave a slight smile trying to be polite but her nervousness could not help but to show. One of the flight attendant noticed and offered her help with Kylie's luggage to be put above in the compartments. Kylie accepted and became calm for a minute. She thanked the attendant and sat down in her seat. Still calm, she slowly searched in her bag for her Airborne. She took it out and watched it immediately dissolve throughout her water. Jerk! The plane started moving. Her pupils became large and her eyes, huge. Her heart was pacing fast and the adrenaline was rushing through her body. Instantly, she gulped down the Airborne, afraid of getting sick through the ride. Out of all possible things, she did not want to regurgitate on the plane. Fortunately, the flight attendants come out, distracting Kylie with their safety precaution guidelines
