120 Minutes That Changed America
On September 11, 2001, one of the darkest days in American history, the United States was attacked by terrorists. Four planes were high jacked in four different airports and headed for separated destinations. The first plane hit the South Twin Tower and the second hit the north tower. A third plane was headed to Virginia to hit the Pentagon. The last plane crashed down in the country side of Pennsylvania where by heroic passengers took their lives to save the White House, fighting off the high jackers and crashing the plane were no one can get hurt.
Growing up we learned that the attacks of September 11 were caused by 3 planes hitting the towers and the pentagon. Never during lessons in school as a child did I learn about the heroic effort by the passengers to retake the plane. Also before the video that we watched I dint know the true horror that struck America. When you think about attacks, you think about the people that were attacked but it takes the video to show you the men and women who risked their lives to help that weren’t even in the buildings.
While watching the video you see the first plane hit and everyone is thinking it's an accident by the pilot, but when the second plane hits every starts to go crazy. Th police and firemen that risked their lives going into those buildings to save the lives of thousands. Some didn't come out of those buildings alive, some came out with injuries that they will never be able to live the same way. The horror that you saw coming out of the peoples faces were ones you would never want to see. Millions of people tried to flee the city, but all were turned away as the bridges and tunnels were shut down and blocked off.
