“Absolute, Boundless and Unfathomable”
By: Jemark G. Sentillas BSA 4, HNU
“A mother carries her child for 10 months in her womb. A father carries the responsibilities of his child for a lifetime! They both carry YOU in their hearts as long as they are alive.”
I was born special because they showed me how important I am when I came into their lives. I grew up with a smile in my heart because they colored my entire life with their love so unconditional. I had my ambitions too because they taught me about what it feels like when I achieve such. I played well as a kid yet studied the hardest as a student because their unfortunate life stories inspired me to be their hope.
Just right now, as I am writing this, I couldn’t help but cry while remembering the varied experiences I had with them. My memories still seem to be so fresh that I can picture out the wonderful events that had happened in my 19 years of existence.
I belong to a simple family. Everyone knows me as someone without so much wealth. In terms of money, I can say I have nothing. But I made that fact as a reason to persevere. What I definitely have is them, I mean my parents. They nurtured me since then, and until now they‘re still taking good care of me. I truly have them. They never left me despite my shortcomings. I was able to stand up during my downfall because they were with me. When I got sick, I could never see them with even a single trace of not being worried about me. They stood by me and sacrificed everything just to provide the things I need, even to the extent of giving up their own valuable things for money so they can send me to school. When I got bullied, my father did give his time protecting me from the bad guys. My mother was always concerned about my safety. Every time I go home late at night, she never failed to scold me even once because she cared so much about me. She was always afraid that I might meet an accident in the roads, or get involved in a certain trouble, or lose me as her son totally. So every day that I am with them is the day that I am very much secured and absolutely fine. So then, just as I was especially loved by them, they both have the most special place in my heart. I love them. My gratitude is overflowing that they both deserved so much tribute from me.
This time, there’s nothing more important other than my parents. They both have an absolute significance in my being. With all the sacrifices that they have done, they must have been tired already. But still, their love is boundless. They never stopped supporting me because of that love. Whenever I fail to do the right thing, still, they never shut their doors. No matter how sinful I am, they willingly embraced me with open arms as I come back to them. Indeed, their forgiveness is unfathomable. My father may not be as religious as my mother, but with everything that they have done for me, seeing them both is like seeing Christ. Because of them, I always feel that God is with us.
