With a specific end goal to keep up the nature of item, Newton & co organization connected the best framework or system to their organization, one of which is the accounting information system (AIS). Accounting Information System is a system of records a business keeps to maintain its accounting system which may includes the purchase, sales and other financial processes of the business. The sole purpose of AIS is to assemble data and provide decision makers or other accounting users such as the investors, creditors and the managers with information. Therefore in this report, the type of accounting information system, IT infrastructure, and the Business transaction cycle in which the Newton & co company is executing will be explained with the hope that the most vital information in this report will be derived by the management.

1.2 THE INFORMATION ENVIRONMENT

Diverse sorts of information system are required for various organizations. Each organization has singular needs and necessities and finding the correct information system to suit one’s organization is significant to succeed and contend in a market. Newton & co is the worlds biggest drink or beverage company. They offer their items in nearly 200 nations everywhere throughout the world. Because of its size, checking the funds and logistics of their worldwide endeavor is highly critical and having the correct sort of information system can mean the contrast between success and failure.

We began with an old system called the legacy system. This ended up being extremely wasteful, it was not easy to understand and a ton of costs were incurred due to these issues. We additionally did our monetary plans physically on spreadsheets and were submitted as printed copies. This made it extremely hard to refresh data or information and was a major issue as we began to expand globally.

However, as we were growing an integrated business management system was needed to handle the different aspects of our worldwide corporation. We decided to incorporate Strategic Enterprise Management (SEM). This provided us with business planning for finances, data warehousing for information collection and data analysis, and can also generate financial reports and monthly sales forecasts. This information system is now fully implemented in the company and all the data it collects provides baseline information so that Newton & co can track the financial health and growth of the company.(Eternal sunshine of the IS mind, 2013)

1.3 ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

The Newton & co Company has a Separate International Division Structure because its international staffs operate separately and in isolation from head office. It has various divisions in all continents around the world with presidents that control each continental division. Coca-Cola has 5 continental divisions.

  • Eurasia & Africa Group
  • Europe Group
  • Latin America Group
  • North America Group
  • Pacific Group

Each Continental division has vice presidents that control sub-divisions based on regions or countries. This structure is efficient for Coca-Cola since it is a very large company.[pic 1]

More so, Newton & co is as an ethnocentric MNC because its domestic operations are very similar to its international operations. Regardless of the country or region, Newton & co operates the same way and sells the same brand and type of soft drink. The company has tight control over its operations from head office.(Reference.com, 2017)
