(1) Department: Production department
Information System: Inventory system
How to reduce the operational costs: An inventory control system is a system that encompasses all aspects of managing a company's inventories; purchasing, shipping, receiving, tracking, warehousing and storage, turnover, and reordering. In different firms the activities associated with each of these areas may not be strictly contained within separate subsystems, but these functions must be performed in sequence in order to have a well-run inventory control system. Computerized inventory systems create it’s potential to conform the various pragmatic subsystems that are a part of the inventory management into one cohesive system. By using this system, the cost used for purchasing paper can be highly reduced. Apart from that, manpower can also as well be lessening thus lesser payroll the company has to pay.
(2) Department: Sales department
Information System: Point of Sales System
How to reduce the operational costs: First is reduce marketing costs and time. Marketing is a vital part of growing a business, leaving many owners spending a lot of time and money on reaching as many clients as possible. When coping with competition and an outsized customer base, it can become very expensive, time consuming and overwhelming to try and might have to do it manually. Marketing services are typically expensive to hire, and the money spent on them is much better focused on store operations, improving the customer experience and additional stock.. POS systems permit the users to collect customer contact information with ease, permitting you to inform them of sales and other promotions. As opposed to reaching out individually, the POS user can simply send out mass emails.
Second is reducing the cost of the receipts. An usually unnoted overlooked business expense is the upkeep of receipt printers, which can often run into the thousands. This expense eventually out prices the cost of the printer itself. Ink cartridges are typically costly, and therefore the average receipt has several pictures and blocks of text that exhaust them rapidly. The printers are also unable to be repaired by the end user, leaving them to pay for specialists to repair the device. POS systems provide customers the selection of receiving a receipt in their email, which is far more convenient and attractive to shoppers. Your receipt printer gets additional longevity and you do not have to depend on business machine repair services which that will charge high rates. POS systems positively replace the additional expensive and time overwhelming operations thus employees can focus on customer interaction and driving up revenue.
Third is eliminating multiple data entry. This can also lead to additional lines at the register, long wait periods on the phone, and disgruntled customers departing the store due to impatience. Not only has the sale been lost, they may share their experience with others, costing clientele and revenue. A POS system allowing your employees and managers to access important store and customer data on-demand brings additional potency and productivity to your store.
