Alcohol Advertising and its Lasting Effects
There are many types of alcohol being used by innocent, unknowing people. What I mean is that there are thousands of people consuming alcohol who do not know the effect that it will have on themselves in the future and on others in the present. In my essay you will learn about how the advertisement of alcohol gives false information, the truth behind alcohol, and its health and social effects.
Alcohol is found in all kinds of drinks. You can find alcohol anywhere. It is consumed in restaurants in the form of wine. Alcohol is also found in drinks like vodka, whiskey, rum, triple-sec and small amounts can even be found in medications. Alcohol is mostly found in its highest advertised form as beer.
As we all know there are many types of beer advertisements. Presently in this day in time, many people love to enjoy the taste of beer while watching football games and doing other activities in their lives. This wide spread advertising can be found on television, in magazines, on billboards; it can also be heard in advertisements on the radio. They use slogans like "Live the High Life with Miller Light", and "Be a King. Drink Budweiser." The beer manufacturers use slogans like these to make people think that if they drink the beer it will give them a higher station in life. The beer slogans also make men think that they can have all the hot women if they drink the beer.
In a lot of the beer commercials it can also be seen that the manufacturers bring celebrities into the picture. This can have an astonishing effect on sales of their products by increasing their profits by fifty percent in some cases. The beer manufacturers also put their advertisements in commercials during Super Bowl Football games since there is so many people watching. They get the fans attention by using a slogan like "Coors; the number one drink of Super Bowl IV". The American people see these individuals in the commercials as being cool and as role models. The manufacturer tricks people into thinking they can be more like the celebrities if they buy the manufacturers beer. The beer manufacturers do not let the consumer know about any of the negative effects of the product in their advertisements. After the beer is bought the consumer puts himself at a high risk of danger while drinking the beverage. The main reason is because they do not want to scare the consumer away and lose business. This includes all beer manufacturers such as Budweiser, Miller Light, Heineken, Samuel Adams, and more. There is a lot more behind drinking beer than just having fun with friends. Beer can cause you to have impaired judgment. This can cause people to do all kinds of negative things to themselves and to others.
Many under age teenagers consume alcohol illegally. As we all know most teenagers are already irresponsible and don't always use good judgment. Alcohol only increases these factors. It causes teenagers to have unprotected sex, which could result in having an unplanned pregnancy. This has happened to many teenagers attending high school and college. Having a child changes the students' lives because the guy usually has to quit school and support his girlfriend and baby. Some teenagers and adults also use alcohol to get rid of their worries. Some people also use alcohol to get out of their minds when they are depressed. Alcohol really doesn't do this in all cases. Alcohol may make the depression and anxiety worse and causes more harm to the person and to the people around them.. As you have read, alcohol can destroy your life and your future.
Drinking causes many deaths every year. This is mainly due to driving vehicles while intoxicated by alcohol. Alcohol can make a person experience symptoms like dizziness, cloudy vision, slow reaction time, hallucinations, and much more.
