1. A) Doctor Faustus studies medicine, logic, law and religion and theology.

2. Theology is so unsatisfying for Faustus because although he gives him a wider base of learning, Faustus also realizes that all men sin, and in the bible he finds the assertion where it was "the reward for sin, is death."

The Pope sends two different cardinals to the dungeon who Faustus and the devil pretended to be they then torment the pope and his men during dinner, and ran away only to have the friars enter to try and get the evil spirits out of the room.
