1. A) Doctor Faustus studies medicine, logic, law and religion and theology.
b) He finds these professions dissatisfying because medicine, he had good skills in being a doctor, law, only dealt with trivial matters, logic, was not scholarly enough for him and religion he realizes that all men sin, and in the bible he finds where it says, "the reward of sin, is death"
c) Doctor Faustus finds the study of magic the most engaging, because he gains numerous amounts of power from it.
2. Theology is so unsatisfying for Faustus because although he gives him a wider base of learning, Faustus also realizes that all men sin, and in the bible he finds the assertion where it was "the reward for sin, is death."
3. The internal debate between Faustus takes place within Faustus is externalized through good and evil.
4. Mephistopheles is a devil who Faustus summons with his initial magical experiments.
5. When Faustus forces him to leave he returns dressed as a Franciscan Friar because it says, "a holy shape becomes a devil's best."

b) Lucifer and his devils were damned to hell forever but were all at one point angels.
c) Faustus must give his soul to Lucifer in exchange for 24 years of Mephistopheles service.
7. The omens that imply that making the deal is not a good idea because when h e stabs himself to sign the bargain the blood congeals. Faustus wonders what this means, but signs the deed anyway.
8. A) Faustus question to the devil is "who made our world?" the devil doesn't respond because it supposedly is "against his kingdom"
b) The devil doesn't answer the question asked because the correct answer is God, and he does not want to let Faustus know that God created everything and is powerful.
9. Faustus wants to learn how to make he have a wife from the magic book of spells.
10. When Faustus is trying to repent his sins to Christ Lucifer, Mephistopheles and Beelzebub put on a show of the seven deadly sins.
11. The seven deadly sins are Envy, Pride, Covetousness, Gluttony, Wrath, Lechery and Sloth.
12. A) Faustus and the devil were dressed as Cardinals and took a German emperor into custody but let free. The Pope sends two different cardinals to the dungeon who Faustus and the devil pretended to be they then torment the pope and his men during dinner, and ran away only to have the friars enter to try and get the evil spirits out of the room.
b) They appeared to the Pope dressed up as Cardinals.
