All Quiet on the Western Front
Do I think war is necessary? Well I honestly thought it was until my brother joined the armed forces. He joined the Marines back in February, now he has done all of his training and he leaves for Iraq this February. It really sucks knowing that your brother is in the Marines going to Iraq and could possibly die. I will hope and pray that his trip to Iraq is a safe one and he makes it home safely.
Thinking back though why do we have wars, is it to make us feel better about our selves or is it to make sure that all the citizens of this wonderful country are safe. I believe war is to make sure we are all safe from terrorism, and to protect other countries from being terrorized like the United States was. I also believe that we need to pull out of Iraq in the near future, because they will never learn to protect them selves is we are over there fighting their own battles. It is like a brother sticking up for his younger brother. If he does it all the time then the younger brother will never learn how to stand up for him self. The younger brother will become dependent on his older brother to bail him out of situations and what happens when a day comes when the older brother can't fix or protect his little brother in a situation.
Some things are meant to be left alone and I believe there are some wars that are meant to be left alone. If we are always helping people they will become dependent on us to have their back when ever a struggle comes around. Also if we didn't help other countries all the time we would have more armed forces in the actual United States and security could be better or we could protect our selves better from terrorism. If all of our armed forces are over seas helping another country and we are attacked by some terrorist, they who is going to counter attack because most of our troops are over seas dealing with another problem that isn't really
