When researching people from the holocaust, all I could find were Hitar's right hand man, this general, that SS commander. When looking into their roles in the holocaust I found them to be quite dull. Finally I found Warner Von Braun, who seemed to be the most interesting person of the holocaust. That impression didn't last long. Warner Von Braun did not play a role in the holocaust he was part of WWII. The difference still does not make much sense to me. So I kept looking. Finally I stumbled upon Oskar Schindler.

Oskar Schindler was born in 1908 and lived till 1974 ("Oskar Schindler"). He was a German industrialist who played a great role in the protection of Jews from Nazis in World War II [1936-1945] ("Oskar Schindler"). Throughout his life he did many different things. He studied engineering, raced motorcycles and served in the Czech army. After leaving the services he became a sales manager for a manufacturer of electrical goods, causing him to travel around Europe. In the late 1930's the German government recruited him to spy against Poland during these business trips ("Oskar Schindler"). When Germany invaded Poland in 1939, Schindler moved to Krakow to run an enamelware factory ("Oskar Schindler"). He mainly employed Jewish laborers. Schindler's factory became a safe haven for the Jewish workforce because he used Ð''connections' with the German government to prevent them from being deported or sent to concentration camps ("Oskar Schindler").

In 1940 the Nazis forced all the Jews in KrakÐ"Ñ-w to live in a ghetto and by 1943 they decided to destroy that very same ghetto ("Oskar Schindler"). They ordered all the Jews to be moved to a concentration camp at nearby PłaszÐ"Ñ-w ("Oskar Schindler"). To save his workers from this fate Schindler built a camp on his factory grounds and convinced the German authorities
