                                 Executive Summary

The report is the result of our analysis of the case “Performance Appraisal- A Novel Wellness Culture”. Purpose of the report is to focus on the ethical issue related with the case. This report has been prepared based on our knowledge about various concepts of Management and Organizations Behavior. But large scale research was not possible due to time constrain and lack of practical knowledge in related area. The report is concerned about ethical issues related with the action of Nerio Alessadri , the founder of  Technogym and well foundation as well as their social obligation & social responsibility .

                                                        Case Summary

Wellness is a social opportunity for everyone: for Governments, that can reduce the costs of healthcare, for companies to stimulate their members to be more creative and productive and for all citizens to improve their health and daily lifestyle. It is the lifestyle promoted by TECHNOGYM which aims at improving people’s quality of life through education and regular physical exercise, a balanced diet and positive mental attitude This is the idea behind the work of the Wellness Foundation, the non-profit organization created more than 10 years ago by Nerio Alessandri, with the goal of sharing his twenty years’ experience in the fitness, Wellness and health sector in order to create a more sustainable society thanks to the promotion of Wellness and a healthy lifestyle.

Technogym has roughly 2,000 employees worldwide and 1,000 employees based in Cesena. It is sending fifty trainers and 1,200 pieces of equipment to the Rio Olympics. This is part of its involvement in the Olympic Games, which spans across the past six competitions.

 Problems:

Question 1: How can Technogym being socially responsible and focused profits?

Question 2: Would you describe Nerio Alessandri’s approach as social obligation, social responsiveness, or social responsibility? Explain.

Question 3: It’s time to think like a manager. Corporate social responsibility is wonderful, though often criticized as purely rhetorical and laden with subtle profit goals. How can a manager emphasize genuineness of corporate social responsibilities and activities in society?
