Animal Contribution To Humans

Animals have helped the human population thrive. Without them life would be so much tougher. Over years the human population has increased significantly, which means more food will need to be produced to feed everyone. One of the most important things animals do is that they simply feed us. Many livestock animals are raised for the production of meat. Such as cows, pigs, bison, goats, or chickens. Once the animals are slaughtered the meat is distributed across stores all over the world for human consumption. Meat is important to our diet because it has an assortment of amino acids and vitamin B which is required in human nutrition. Cows also help produce dairy products such as cheese, yogurt, and milk. All of these are a major source of calcium. Another reason for human use of animals for food is that most countries have land unsuitable for growing crops. This land produces feed in the form of grass and other vegetation that is suitable for letting livestock graze. The animals can harvest and convert the grass to a high quality protein food.

A special animal that means a lot to me is a horse. I work at a feedlot as a pen rider, and that job would be impossible to do without horses. They really are a valuable asset. They can go about anywhere, they have great endurance, and they move fast. Its incredible how strong they are too, if you had to rope a 900 pound steer and pull it out of a pen, they could do it. Currently I'm training two young colts and its just awesome seeing how they progress over time. There very intelligent animals that catch on quick. Overall there just very versatile animals that every ranch or farm should have.
