Many of you sitting in this room have, had some bond with yours or someone else's pet in your life time, dogs, cats, birds etc. You think of them coming to greet you at the door when you come home. They were always apart of our lives one way or another. Even in the past, when they had to, people only sacrificed animals for the sake of survival. But as time progressed humanity increased in selfishness and began to kill animals for the sole benefits of their appearance and self worth. The society we live in now, we no longer require animals for alimentary needs, we are exploiting and torturing them to aid in our personal gain of superficial satisfaction and fur being a distinct example of this. Fur has become a major issue that has been endangering many species around the world. Stars in Hollywood display their fur as being a fashion statement and disregarding the horrid cruelty that these poor animals face everyday. Millions of animals are killed every year to make fur for some human to look "good."

Jennifer Lopez, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford are a few examples of celebrities that believe fur can do no harm of course, it's not them being skinned alive. These are a few of the many people that are ignorant to the repercussions of brutalizing animals. But they just seem to be indifferent to the cause. They ignore the fact that dozens and dozens of creatures are killed to make one single fur coat, a fur coat that has taken many lives for the mere enjoyment of a couple of hours. And this information has absolutely no affect on their conscience because they continue to do it because it's fashionable. Even stars who are perceived to have less intellectual credibility like Pamela Anderson can comprehend the fact the major impact fur trade has had on our society, she feels for the animals and the pain and suffering they go through. People like Pamela Anderson can find other reasonable alternatives like wearing artificial fur, or no fur at all. At this moment in time replicas of real fur made out of artificial fur
