Study: Girls who read diet articles are more likely to develop eating disorders, written by: Carla K. Johnson, from the Duluth News Tribune. A recent study showed that teen girls who read about dieting and being over weight later were more likely to have disorders. The girls that read these articles are not exactly over weight or even at risk but still seeing the article makes the teenagers think they need to worry about their weight. Guys that read the articles don't seem to have the effect of the weight watching as the magazine articles have on the girls. Girls do things like vomiting, fasting, or over exercising their bodies to look rail thin when it is unhealthy and un necessary. I chose this article because I know a lot

of people (girls) who do smoke and take diet pills when they are already skinnier then I am it is sad that they feel they aren't skinny or pretty enough.

I think if your skinny or plump you should be comfortable with your body. No one is perfect. If you are over weight then you might be concerned for your health, not for you image. Everyone likes food and everyone eats it. Some just have fast metabolism and some exercise like none other. Then, there are the girls who take the drastic measures to be "in and cute" being skinny doesn't make you cute or any more liked by people. I have friends who are about 100 pounds and they get picked on for being too skinny so they eat a lot

trying to gain weight. So, are they in the same situation as people losing weight? Not exactly. Losing weight can make you way unhealthy and even kill you. If you stop eating it will just eat off the little bit of fat you have and destroy your life. So your not getting very far destroying your life by trying to make it better are you. I do feel this is important for the world to focus on. Many people have died from starving themselves or even being bulemic. My conclusion is that skinny isn't always
