Answer Analyze questions for Educating for Change
1. To become lifelong learners and active members of society and to prepare for future employment opportunities .I think the students should have the skills such as confidence, persistence, independence, discipline, motivation ,leadership, communication, attitude, work ethic and teamwork skills. In my opinion, Humanities and Social Sciences classes are the best prepare students for new roles. For me, as a new student at SPSCC, I think the Human Development classes will help me to prepare for new role in the future.
2. I believe that the general education courses are an essential role in preparing students. For instance, the Humanities classes help to focus on the history, culture, and contributions of various ethnic groups’ identity through power and privilege, past to present. Students gain knowledge of other groups' history and cultural heritage and develop skills in intercultural communications and critical thinking for education, community and work, environments.
3. Jonathan Lash believe that problems in near future cannot be adequately addressed within traditional academic programs but”demand collaborative, cross-disciplinary responses because he thinks that the problems happen such as climate change or income inequality to a growing global population, the discovery of new planets.
The world’s problem have changed are climate change, the nature of consciousness, income inequality and the challenge of providing more and healthier food.
Yes, companies are demanding that workers have wider-ranging academic experience before employment.
Yes, the focus of business is moving in new direction.
