2 Clarity Server Sizing Guidelines

The following defines hardware sizing and configuration guidelines for deploying Clarity

to 500 - 5000 users. When we start out at the 500-user level, it is important to take into

account future growth potential. The recommended configuration outlined below should

be housed in an expandable hardware solution. When new users are added to the system,

you can add processors and RAM as necessary.

2.1 User Deployment Configuration

The following configuration is appropriate for a deployment of 500 - 1000 named

users, with the following usage assumptions:

User Types - 10 percent heavy system-intensive users (financial managers and

application administrators); 35 percent medium system-intensive users (project,

resource, and opportunity managers); and 55 percent light system intensive

users (general collaboration users, time-entry users, external users).

Concurrency Rates - Average concurrency rate of 20 percent and peak concurrency

of 30 percent during time-entry submission periods.
