Emerson’s assertion about the power that books poses can sometimes be true but can also be irrelevent in other people’s eyes because of the book's message it is sending or there isn't any connection for the readers.

Some books posses a power that makes the reader keep coming back for more because of what they are getting out of the book and the connection that comes along with it, making it hard for them to stop reading the same exactly over and over again or read ones similar in type of ways. What I mean by posses a power, I mean that there are “Powerful External Forces” that can completely knock on your line of life and change everything about who are and how you look at things but also approach things. There is a book called the giving tree that always gave a little boy a piece of it when the boy couldn’t get it any other way but once the tree ran out of things to give he realized that there is always going to be someone to rely on even when they couldn't provide you with things anymore.

During some readings of books there can be times where the Author is producing bad intentions or manipulating the reader into trying bad things and why these bad things are cool or what not. Deep readers can easily be convinced by things the Author is saying and he/ she can get away with it. Authors have the ability to plant things in the reader's mind to either convince them to do the things they are saying and make it hard for the reader to avoid. I would say that Authors usually try to persuade things in their writing in order to get their message across or even in your mind to create a slippery slope, which mean a twisted way of thinking.
