The main characteristics of
Romanesque art:
 simple compositions and very linear, elongated designs
 There is very little sign of figurative imagery or any effort towards naturalistic depiction.

 Like Romanesque imagery, aimed to instruct and persuade the viewer however its effects are more varied and subtle it incorporates a wide range of subjects drawn from the natural world.

Romanesque both sculpture and painting carried educational and inspirational messages. Art clearly Communicate heaven's rewards and the horrors of hell, the damned suffer and tormented by demons.
Gothic-brought together faith and reason not like Romanesque who used stylization and distortion to achieve an emotional impact.
Gothic created more natural forms to reflect idealism and reason analysis of scholastic thought.
