On every second Wednesday of every month in downtown Sanford, Florida there is a local photography exhibit. Every month has a different theme and this past Wednesday the theme was solitude, the theme is mailed out ever month giving each artist time to focus on what he or she wants to shoot. I have been taking part in this exhibit for almost a year now, it helps keep me balanced. Although I have missed participating the past two months due to family issues I still made an appearance to get away back in to my world.

Having not been able to participate in the "solitude" show, I felt that I could use it for my review. As I look at all the work taking in each person's piece, I always seem to find one or two that just automatically pop out. This month everyone has done some many different things. There is everything from black and white to color to double exposed. All of the photographers have done such an amazing job.

I have a thing for empty beaches, I guess that is what brought me to Florida except for the empty part due to the fact that they are always full. If you are able to get away to the beach at early morning that is when it is most amazing and for that reason I think I was drawn to the two that stood out the most.

The first piece was by a local artist named Melissa Carroll, she is an elementary school teacher but her passion is photography. Her photo was of two white oversized beach chairs slightly positioned to where they were leaning into one another looking out on to the beach. The way she captured the waves and the sun coming up in the morning just amazed me.

The second piece was by an artist out of Orlando. His name is Jamie Gartland, he is a mortgage processor. His photo was of an almost empty amusement park. The almost part come in when the only person you see in the landscape of the park was a young girl on the farris wheel with a bright yellow ribbon in her hair. By telling you that
