Artificial intelligence (AI) is an area of computer science that emphasizes the creation of intelligent machines that work and react like humans. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a field that has a long history but is still constantly and actively growing and changing. The ability to create intelligent machines has intrigued humans since ancient times and today with the advent of the computer and 50 years of research into AI programming techniques, the dream of smart machines is becoming a reality. Researchers are creating systems which can mimic human thought, understand speech, beat the best human chess player, and countless other feats never possible before. Artificial intelligence has been around for longer than most people think. We all think that artificial intelligence has been in research for about 20 years or so. In all actuality after thousands of years of fantasy, the appearance of the digital computer, with its native, human-like ability to process symbols, made it seem that the myth of the man-made intelligence would finally become reality. Artificial intelligence has revolutionized the world of business, gaming, academia, medicine, weather forecasting, controlling flights amongst other fields. It is unquestionable that the implementation and incorporation of artificial intelligence in computer revolution has brought about greater impacts into people’s lives. Many organizations with their different needs have benefited from this revolution. The military for example has been able to design robots to access remote areas that are inaccessible and dangerous to the lives of militants.

Siri, Google Now, and Cortana are all intelligent digital personal assistants on various platforms (iOS, Android, and Windows Mobile or Windows computer). In short, they help us to find useful information when we ask for it using our voice; we can say “Where’s the nearest Chinese restaurant?”, “What’s on my schedule today?”, “Remind me to watch Tom & Jerry at eight o’clock,” and the assistant will respond by finding information, relaying information from our phone, or sending commands to other apps. AI is important in these apps, as they collect information on our requests and use that information to better recognize our speech and serve us results that are tailored to our preferences. Microsoft says that Cortana “continually learns about its user” and that it will eventually develop the ability to anticipate users’ needs. Virtual personal assistants process a huge amount of data from a variety of sources to learn about users and be more effective in helping them organize and track their information. Google Now is one of the most used Artificial Intelligence system nowadays besides Siri. On Google Now, we can check all news that we are interested in in just a few seconds. It shows us time and traffic when it is time to leave for work or college. Now we can find this all information on our smart watch using the same methods.

One of the instances of AI that most people are probably familiar with, video game. AI has been used for a very long time—since the very first video games, in fact. Though the complexity and effectiveness of that, AI has increased exponentially over the past several decades, resulting in video game characters that learn our behaviors, respond to stimulator, and react in unpredictable ways. "Most game AI is designed to be exactly as intelligent as it needs to be to give the player a good experience. For many games, this means the AI should behave in predictable and barely intelligent ways, like the enemies in a Mario game or most first person shooters." First-person shooters like Far Cry and Call of Duty also make significant use of AI, with enemies that can analyze their environments to find objects or actions that might be beneficial to their survival; they’ll take cover, investigate sounds, use flanking maneuvers, and communicate with other AIs to increase their chances of victory. Virtual Reality(VR) is also a gift from an AI. As far as AI goes, video games are somewhat simplistic, but because of the industry’s huge market, a great deal of effort and money are invested every year in perfecting this type of AI.

In the vast blackness of space, where Earth appears to be just a small dot, Artificial Intelligence helps astronauts and robots to make swift decisions and plan quickly, without much assistance from home. The problem of controlling the physical actions of a mobile robot might not seem to require much intelligence. Even small children are able to navigate successfully through their environment and to manipulate items, such as light switches, toy blocks, eating utensils, etc. However, these same tasks, performed almost unconsciously by humans, when performed by a machine require many of the same abilities used in solving more intellectually demanding problems. Research on robots or robotics has helped to develop many AI ideas. It has led to several techniques for modeling world states and for describing the process of change from one world state to another. It has led to a better understanding of how to generate plans for action sequences and how to monitor the execution of these plans. Satellites gather data from the planets and send them to NASA. It is possible because of AI.
