The automobile has been around for quite some time. It takes back to the late 1800's. Then there was not a ford or Chevy. Diamler-Chrysler invented one of the earliest cars. It consisted of a horse buggy with no horses of course. It instead had a undercarriage mounted steam engine. The driver sat atop the buggy where they would normally and had a long steering wheel rise up between their legs. The automobile was then introduced to the public in higher quantities when Henry Ford built the first assembly line. Ever since the automobile came to our world it has been an extraordinary piece of canvas for art. People started doing anything and everything to a car to make it their own. At first it was just different paints and accessories such as fancier door handles and cloth. Then interiors were made more luxurious. Now we do everything from rims to full engine makeovers. Now the body of a car is not only customizable but it is ever changing and varies from company and make.
Today car art is an expression of self and all other aspects of life. It represents the minds freedom and variety. A car or truck can be anything you want it to be. Any vehicle can make an excellent canvas. I know if I could choose my own vehicle to customize I'd choose to trick out a mini-van. Auto customs as a business is a booming industry. Now days you have everything from television shows like Pimp My Ride and Unique Whips, and world renowned custom shops such as WCC and a company based on custom tailoring to your body, Saleen. Saleen auto in Europe builds cars that are specifically tailored to the drivers' body.
Autos can be changed in a variety of ways to meet your needs and visual eye-candy wants. You can beef up your engine by adding or modifying certain things. For example you can greatly increase horsepower on a truck by simply upgrading its air intake kit. Muffler systems as well as tips can increase power, or they can lose power. For example if you have a high pressure vehicle such as a half-ton truck an enlarged muffler tip and dual exhaust will increase power, and if you have a small little ford escort with a low pressure system and you try to be cool with your coffee can cause its loud, well your really only losing power because your exhaust
