It is very important that we recognize the need for education about AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases. While there are many people who are thoroughly informed about this issue, there is still an increasingly amount of those who are not aware. More education is necessary to help control the spread of these diseases. People do not have an accurate understanding of AIDS, HIV, and sexually transmitted disease, and I hope to help elaborate a little more on how this epidemic is spreading across the nation and to give more information about the ONE campaign.
Currently, there is the ONE campaign which is a new effort from America to rally Americans, ONE-to-ONE to fight the emergency global AIDS and extreme poverty.
This campaign is trying to encourage Americans to raise there voice as ONE to help and try to beat this epidemic.
My plan is to influence people to discover more about this disease, because it is out there. I know that there are a lot of people in society today that feel they are untouchable, and this disease could affect anyone. I would like to inform that AIDS is not only transmitted through sexual intercourses, it could be a result of malnutrition, and recreational drugs, and that is to name a few.
We as a society can stop unnecessary fears by telling others about AIDS is not spread; protect families, friends, and neighbors from getting AIDS by informing them about how AIDS is spread; support and comfort family members that have AIDS. Do not pass judgment or isolate them. Most of all, I hope for all of us to use the information we know to inform ourselves and loved ones.
Even though this may not be a major concern focused on by the government, it is very serious. AIDS is not curable and should not be taken lightly. I know that change does not come in a day, but if we take the time together to reach out to each other, that time
