When I was a young child, I had always been fascinated with the business world. Fast forward years later, and I am still interested. My interest in business has given me experiences I otherwise wouldn't have had. This past school year, I was one of ten freshman to make it to the State level in the DECA competitions. Furthermore, I was one of four freshman to make it to the State level as an individual, and the only female to make it to the State Level. The reason I was so successful in the DECA business competition is because this past summer I had the privilege of working with my dad and learn about the stock market. Through him, I learned everything from what a beta is to what a quick ratio is. In addition to this, with his guidance, I invested my own money into the stock market.
Now I am going to be a sophomore in high school, and I am starting to focus on what specific part of the business world I am going to major in. I am greatly interested in entrepreneurship and owning my own business and I think that Camp $tart-Up is the perfect camp for me. I know that is important to be knowledgeable about a field of study before you enter into it, and if I went to Camp $tart-Up, I would gain just that. However, what is unique about Camp $tart-Up is, it is an all girls camp. This means that I will see first-handedly not only what it will be like to be person in the field of entrepreneurship but, a women in this field. In brief, Camp $tart-Up will provide me with the necessary tools to help me start my own business and be overall better prepared to enter the business world.
