BACKGROUND OF THE COMPANY
Belle Boutique is a French word which means a beautiful shop. Bella Boutique is a small trading company shop which sells dresses and specialized products for Muslimah. It is located in Shah Alam, Selangor. We choose this business because we found that the opportunity to expand the business is high as there is a high demand for the products. We choose this type of business because it has a bright potential on developing the economy.
2. Your business partner, Encik Helmi argues: “Why is it important to use system analysis and design methodologies when building a system? Why not just build the system in whatever way seems to be “quick and easy”? Discuss.
Systems analysis is the detailed understanding of important features of the system under investigation. This includes finding out how the existing system works. It includes finding out in more detail what the system problem are and what the users require of the new system. In any successful company, it is important to ensure that effective and efficient system to guide daily operation in way to ensure that smooth of the operation and the goal can be achieve. The importance to use system analysis and design methodologies when building a system is identify the company’s information systems requirement, plan, build and implementation of it to meet the company’s needs.
System analysis helps company to identify the problem and trying to find a solution. The analysis part has a lot to do with "diagnosis." Management need to make sure better understanding about the problem in depth and to understand what the end users need. If management provide a solution that does not meet user’s needs, the system is useless.
Besides that it helps to identify process that included activities, techniques and a set of tools that allow company to approach new information systems project in a systematic way. In addition, when used system analysis and design methodologies when build a system it will provide better understanding of the parts and its functions of different components or parts for identifying the problem of it. It also provide a blueprint in which company can identify and address all important aspects of the system. An example of the approaches and methodologies use is the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), interviews, prototyping and others.
When a accompany practicing of this system analysis and design methodologies when building a system it will help to study and plan data input, data flow, data processing and transformation, storage and output of data for company’s business needs, and to design new information systems to meet those needs. It also easier for analysts to properly identify and understand users’ requirement in order to implement needed improvements to their current systems. Better understanding can be view in term of interview, review of documents, observation, questionnaires, Joint Application Design and prototyping.[pic 2]
In addition, it will facilitate users’ involvement during the planning, designing and implementation of the system. Then the benefit is Improves the communication between analysts, developers, and users throughout the development cycle, which makes it easier to implement needed changes, adjust and adapt to the often ever-changing requirements of the company. It also provides for the thorough testing of a system in order to pin-point bugs (a harmful micro-organism such as virus) and issues that need correction before final implementation.
