ERP integrates business processes across departments into a single enterprise-wide information system which creates a uniform organizational culture of getting transactional data that seamlessly coordinate across all the functional departments in the organization. With the functionality of the ERP modules which consolidates the real-time transactional data across all the functional departments, it also allows better decision making and strategic planning for those management decision-making personnel which in turn increase the efficiencies of doing business in an organization.
 APS: Advanced Planning and Scheduling System
 E-Commerce
 SRM: Supplier Relationship Management System
 CRM: Customer Relation Management System
The 4 systems mentioned above are systems considered to be in the business intelligence and analytic intelligence layer that leverage on the ERP system. ERP organize and prepare the real-time transactional data in advance for those systems to function to its full potential.
With the ERP as the backbone, these 4 systems leverage on the real-time transaction data from across the core-functional activities of the organization into significant information for decision makers to make fact-based decision for the organization to effectively meet the organization’s goals.
Thus, without the ERP in place, the real-time, fact-based transactional data which represent the real-time status of the organization will not be consolidated from across the different functions in the organization. Hence, are not to be readily used for those 4 systems as mentioned above. These data are then use as inputs, to generate coincident reports for the management to make crucial decision.
