Benefits of Running At Least 7 Minutes a Day
Exercising is a crucial thing to do in order to get a long healthy life and running is one of the most efficient and natural exercises that takes minimal time. A majority of people claim that they don’t have enough time or are too busy to exercise. Fortunately, running only needs as little as 7 minutes to get the benefits of it. Therefore, people should run because running have plenty of benefits and only takes little time. (Long, 2014).
One of the benefits of running is reduced risk of cardiovascular-associated death. According to NHS Choices, the research shows that individuals who ran had a decreased danger of death from heart diseases (Long, 2014). Heart diseases and other cardiovascular diseases is one of the major global cause of death. In 2011, almost 800 thousand people in the United States died from heart disease and other cardiovascular diseases (Mozaffarian et al., 2015).
Another benefits of running is weight loss. That’s because running is an activities that requires lower body’s larger muscle and it can burn a high amount of calories resulting in weight loss (“4 advantages,” 2013). Therefore, running can help people who suffers from overweight. According to Reuters, the rates of being overweight is 28 percents of adults and 47 percents of children (Dunham, 2014).
On the contrary, there are many individuals who gain weight instead of weight loss when they start running. This can be happen from an increase in muscle mass and increased glycogen in the muscle, hence the weight gain. Additionally, weight gain can also increase appetite. Thus to fulfill this appetite by eating and drinking overabundance calories leading to weight gain. However, while weight gain can happen to any people, it can easily avoided by running as many as 7 to 10 minutes a day. That’s because increased mass only happens when running for a long amount of time such as marathon or running for half an hour (“4 advantages,” 2013).
