Beowulf

An epic hero is when the main character takes some heroic action in a poem. Beowulf is an epic poem about how he had the courage to fight a monster. When Beowulf fought the monster he did not have any weapons. The way he killed the monster was by ripping its arm off. The monster bleed to death in the mead hall since his arm had been ripped off.
Beowulf is definitely a hero because he fought off Grendel for the town. He used his courage when the town's people needed him. As Beowulf goes through the fight with Grendel he never fears death. Beowulf can definitely boast about himself with everything he has accomplished. Beowulf's character trait is the ability to have the courage to fight the monster. With him fighting these battles he has gained respect from everybody.
The main character trait that shows Beowulf as a hero is his courageousness. He shows courage several times through his life. Beowulf has courage to stand up when nobody else would to take on Grendel. If I was Grendel I would be worried about Beowulf because nobody has ever stood up to me. Again Beowulf shows that he has courage because when he fights Grendel he as nothing to fight with. The only thing he has is his bare hand. Lastly Beowulf needed courage to fight Grendel because nobody believe that Grendel could be taken down. They were all afraid of the monster.
Another character trait that defines Beowulf heroism is his physical strength. He fought Grendel with nothing but his hands. Beowulf is very strong considering the fact that he ripped Grendels arm off.
Beowulf is definitely an epic hero because he has risked his life many times for the good of the community and the overall glory for himself. Heroes are called heroes for different reasons these days then during the Angelo-Saxon era. During the Angelo-Saxon era heroes fought for there land or people until death. Also during these times these kind of heroes prevent there land and people from getting attacked
