Beppo's Big Day Out

This February, they got more rain than is normal, so the grass was

really green and the flowers were all blooming. On one rare sunny day, Beppo

decided to go for a bicycle ride around his neighborhood. He went to tell

his mother who was in the back yard picking tomatoes off the vines in her

garden. As Beppo was leaving, his father stopped him to ask if he had enough

air in his bike tires. Beppo checked the air, then, he was off.

As Beppo rode past the school yard, he saw something was going on, so he

decided to stop and see what was going on. It was a little league baseball

game. So, Beppo decided to stop and watch for a bit. The teams colors were

green and yellow. After a bit, Beppo decided it was time to move on. He was

trying to figure out where to go next, a firetruck zipped past the school and

a nearby policeman got into his car, and left. Beppo wondered what had

happened, but, he decided it would be safer if he didn't follow.

Beppo left the school, and rode downtown. As he was riding, he saw the

president of Nabisco walking down the street. Beppo meant to stop and say

hello to him, but, his brakes on his bike didn't work, and he rode past the

president, splashing through the flooded gutter, and drenching the

president's coat and
