The Transfer Process of a Florida Alcoholic Beverage License

1. The transfer process can take up to 90 days which is the time mandated by statute for the beverage department to approve or disapprove an alcoholic beverage license application.

2. A temporary license can be issued to the applicant while the inspection process is conducted by the beverage department.

3. Several steps must be taken prior to the issuance of a temporary beverage license in this type of transfer. These steps include:

* Approval from the Department of Revenue that the seller is not delinquent with any sales tax and that the applicant has registered with the Department of Revenue.

* The Health Department must provide a signature that indicates the business location meets sanitary codes.

* The applicant must execute the application in addition to the seller on the pages where indicated.

4. The applicant may operate the business under the temporary license while

the beverage department conducts their investigation of the application. The

applicant will be notified by mail of the outcome of the investigation. If the

application is approved, the applicant will be directed to send in final

payment of the transfer fee and upon receipt of the fee the beverage

department will mail a permanent license in the applicants name.

5. Title to the license does not pass from the seller to the applicant until the
