Introduction:
During the begging of the week we were assign a project. It was about Osmosis procedure with an egg. We were instructed to use four steps. First, we had to weight the egg. After weighting the egg we recorded it in our data chart. Then when we receive a cup we had to weight that. We did the same thing accept we wrote it on the cup so we would have it. After all of the weighting was done we put the egg in the cup and then poured the vinegar in the cup up to the rim. The next day Tuesday, we poured out the vinegar and washed the egg off with water. We gently rubbed the egg shell off. After that we washed out the cup and then put the egg in the cup. We weighted the egg and then subtracted the weight of the cup to get the weight of just the egg and recorded it on our table. After all the weighting was done we put syrup in the cup. On Wednesday we washed off all the syrup on the egg and rinsed out the cup very good. We all then weighted the egg in the cup and subtracted the weight of the cup to get our answer. We put distilled water in the cup after the weighting and left it in the cup till it popped. So this lab took 3 to four days and by doing this lab we saw the process of osmosis. We are going to see if osmosis causes water to diffuse from using more water to more sugar, and less water.
Hypotheses:
I believe that the egg would not last all through the project. It would burst after adding the syrup my predictions were.
