Who Moved My Cheese – Comparison with Changes Occurred In My Life
This book, “Who Moved My Cheese” is awesome. We can take many lessons of it and try to introduce them in our life.
I can make a comparison with the situation, which Haw and Hem suffered, with my own life.` Since I was born, I have dreamt of becoming a soccer player, but in Brazil the soccer environment is surrounded by corruption in almost all of the professional clubs and it is hard to reconcile studying and practicing. Unfortunately, it is clear to see that bias opinions and money have stood in my path, crushing all my hopes of making it. Just as Haw did, I needed to get out of my comfort zone and try something different, search for other ways to fulfill my dream or find my “Cheese”. Therefore, since the year 2012 I started to search for clubs and countries where I could have both, not only to try to accomplish my dream to turn into a professional soccer player, but also complete my studies. That is when I found the possibility here in the USA. My parents liked the idea and we began the process of me moving to a new country.
When arriving here, I noticed many differences of culture and others factors, which I am not, used in Brazil. The thinking and beliefs Americans have about soccer differs a lot of the way we play in my country. Soccer here is much faster and intense. Therefore, I need to adapt the way I used to play to a new philosophy of practicing it. Deal with changes are not easy, quite contrary, is hard. However, dealing with them is a good way to discover yourself, discover what your positive points are and what thing you need to improve. The challenge to find my “Cheese” brought me so far apart my parents, it has already brought me big changes in my life style so if do not adapt and be resistant to new changes, I will certainly never accomplish my dream.
