Brittany Love
Speech Goal: To inform the audience about who I am as a person.
Introduction:
Getting to know someone is very difficult; you never know who you’re getting to know, so I’ll make this as least painful as I possibly can.
I feel as though once you get to know me, I can be a very hard habit to break.
Now, I’ll show you a little into my life; I can only hope you'll get to know me little better.
Thesis statement: What makes me, me, is my love for my family, my passion for animation, and my hobby in Lolita fashion.
Let’s start off with my family.
Body:
My family is small. We are four members in total: my mom, my two grandparents, and myself. I always like to joke that I'm the last generation of the Love’s.
It’s mostly been me and my mom. She is really awesome. I used to joke that she was a friendly drill sergeant.
I don't have any brothers or sisters that I know of, but I have a great mom who has been acting as both the motherly and fatherly role, such as making sure all the guys I date don't try anything.
Right now i live with my grandparents. They’re like my roommates, BAD roommates. They’re pretty old school and tend to constantly come into my room to watch me draw or do homework, and it always scares me when I finally notice them.
My animals are more like my brothers, and that’s more than enough for me. If I had to share anything, I think I’d go insane.
I have two cats, Eggnog and Marshmallow. Eggnog is what my mom likes to call a stoner, and Marshmallow is the most talkative. We had two other cats, but sadly they passed away.
Now, my dog, Otis, is my pride and joy. I've had him even since he was born and having moved away from him has really hit me. He’s my best friend and he's my biggest comfort.
Transition: Now that we've got my family out of the way, we can get into the fun stuff like my passion and career goal of animation.
Animation and media design is my major here at the Art Institute, and so far, it’s been a dream come true. However, I've had a few ups and downs here, but that’s what’s going to make me a good artist.
Character design is my number one goal. I've always loved designing characters for my friends. Coming up with a complex new person out of just a brief description is the absolute best.
Watching cartoons was always fun but when i started to draw out my ideas i had for the shows down was when I really started to know what I wanted to do with my life
It was only till I got to the art institute that I realized that i really could do the things I wanted it wasn't some silly dream that my family liked to make fun of
I’d like to work at Cartoon Network, and maybe, Pixar, just to do some work to get my name out there, but I’d really like to work mostly with Liaka Studios for stop motion animation.
I’ve always loved Cartoon Network, when I first got cable. They didn't rely on fart jokes or use kid actors who couldn't even act to entertain the kids. Even now, their shows have shown a wide variety of body types and real problems that actually relate to the real people of the world.
