No More Bullying
Studies show that every seven minutes, someone is being bullied. Bullying is a very common but deadly epidemic in our daily lives. At first, bullying started as a trend. But now it has become a very major problem with children, teens, and even young adults. Many have tried, but no one has been able to come up with an answer to solve or diminish this problem. Should federal and state governments enforce laws against bullying? Since The whole subject of bullying has become so bad, I definitely, without a doubt, think there should be laws enforced to put a stop to bullying.
Many people are clueless as to what exactly bullying is. Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among people that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time. Bullying behaviors can be classified as either direct (such as teasing, threatening, hitting, or stealing) or indirect (such as rumor spreading or social isolation). Boys typically employed direct methods of bullying, while girls tend to use in direct methods. Bullying includes actions such as making threats, spreading rumors, attacking someone physically or verbally, and excluding someone from a group on purpose. People can be bullied in many ways. The four main types of bullying include: Physical, verbal, social and emotional, and also cyber bullying. Physical bullying can include hitting, pushing, pinching, throwing objects, tripping, kicking, and also damaging someone's property. Verbal bullying can include name-calling, teasing, insults, intimidations, inappropriate sexual comments, and also racial remarks to people. Social/emotional bullying can include spreading rumors, talking behind ones back, hurting someones feeling, and also embarrassing someone. Lastly, the most recent and popular form of bullying is cyber bullying. Cyber bullying allows an individual to harass or be harassed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with no limitations whatsoever. Cyber bullying is when one is bullying or being bullied over the internet. It is most common on social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, etc…
Why are there bullies? Why do they bully? What causes bullying? Bullying is a result of stress. The causes could include strained parental relationships, poor academic performance, unsupportive peer networks or anxiety regarding physical appearance. While bullies give off the appearance of confidence, it is often the case that their actions are driven by insecurities. Harassing and overpowering others gives bullies a sense of superiority, making up for the lack of control in some other part of their lives. Surprisingly, many bullies are often motivated to abuse others because they have been victims of abusive behavior. The anger that they feel as a result of being hurt is directed toward other individuals. Also, some other reasons for bullying is the other child might annoyed them, to get even, for fun, others
