Executive Summary
This report is to analyze the effects of environment factors on the Wal-Mart’s global and regional expansion decision. There are five main factors can be affect to the company which include political environment factors, economic environment factors, social and cultural environment factors, technological environment factors, legal and environmental factors. The report was a group work shared by five members who has written each section.
1. Introduction
Wal-Mart is an American public corporation. It was founded by Sam Walton in 1962, after more than 40 years development it is now the world's largest public corporation by revenue according to the 2007 Fortune Global 500 . Wal-Mart has owned more than 6,600 markets in the whole world and has over 180 million employees. Wal-Mart is distributed in several countries such as United States, Mexico, Canada, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Argentina, South Africa, China and Indonesia.
In this report, we are going to analyse how the business environment affect Wal-Mart’s decision making by these five environment factors: political, economic, social and cultural, technological, legal and environmental.
